Each 0.9 ml spot-on applicator delivers 423 mg dinotefuran and 42.3 mg pyriproxyfen. Use one complete applicator for one administration on one cat only.

The minimum recommended dose is 42.3 mg/kg dinotefuran and 4.23 mg/kg pyriproxyfen. The authorised dose range applies to cats weighing from 0.6 kg to 10 kg.

VECTRA FELIS combines an adulticidal insecticide with an insect growth regulator. The authorised product information lists dimethyl sulfoxide as the excipient.

Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to either active substance or to the excipient.

The need for retreatment and the interval between treatments should be determined following a veterinary assessment.

Route: external spot-on use. Apply only onto intact, undamaged skin.

Opening: hold the applicator upright with the fingers below the larger disc. Press the smaller disc down until both discs meet evenly and the seal is pierced.

Application: keep the cat standing or in a comfortable position. At the base of the head, part the coat until the skin is visible.

Dose: place the tip directly on the skin and slowly apply the complete contents of one applicator. Avoid applying the solution superficially onto the hair.

After treatment: apply in an area the cat cannot lick and prevent animals from grooming one another immediately afterwards.

Dinotefuran acts on nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in the insect nervous system. Fleas do not need to ingest it because it kills by contact.

Pyriproxyfen is a photostable insect growth regulator. It disrupts the flea life cycle by affecting egg fertility and blocking the development of larvae and pupae into adult fleas.

Following topical application, both active substances rapidly spread over the cat’s body surface during the first day and remain measurable in the coat for one month.

Do not use in cats or kittens weighing less than 0.6 kg.

The safety of the product has not been established in cats younger than 7 weeks or weighing less than 0.6 kg.

Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to dinotefuran, pyriproxyfen or dimethyl sulfoxide.

Avoid contact with the cat’s eyes and apply only onto intact skin.

No studies have been performed in sick or convalescent cats. Use in these animals should follow a veterinarian’s benefit-risk assessment.

Seek veterinary advice if dermatitis, itching or skin irritation is suspected.

People with known hypersensitivity to the active substances or dimethyl sulfoxide should avoid contact with the product.

The veterinary medicinal product is irritating to the eyes and skin. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and mouth and wash hands thoroughly immediately after use.

In case of accidental skin contact, wash immediately with soap and water. In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with water while keeping the eyelids open.

Treated animals must not be handled for at least eight hours. Evening application is therefore recommended.

On the day of treatment, treated cats should not sleep with their owners, particularly children.

Dispose of used applicators immediately and keep them out of the sight and reach of children.

Rare: slight scaling, transient erythema and alopecia, generally resolving spontaneously without treatment.

Very rare: application-site reactions such as redness, itching, lesions, inflammation, temporary wet hair or white dry residue; hyperactivity and rapid breathing may also occur.

Transient neurological signs such as muscle tremors or lethargy may occur very rarely, particularly after licking the application site.

After accidental ingestion, temporary salivation, abnormal faeces or vomiting may occur and generally resolve without treatment within four hours.

Contact a veterinary surgeon if signs persist, worsen or if any other adverse event occurs.

Pregnancy and lactation: safety has not been established in adult female cats. Use only according to the responsible veterinarian’s benefit-risk assessment.

Household: all cats in the household should be treated. Dogs should receive only products authorised for dogs. Bedding, baskets, carpets and resting areas may require appropriate environmental treatment and regular vacuuming.

Shampooing: its impact on product efficacy has not been evaluated.

Storage: no special storage conditions are required. Keep out of the sight and reach of children. Once opened, use immediately.

Environment and disposal: do not allow the product or used applicators to enter ponds, waterways or drains because it may be dangerous to fish and aquatic organisms. Dispose of unused product and waste according to local requirements.
