Product description
Frontline Tri-Act is a spot-on antiparasitic treatment for dogs, formulated for the treatment and prevention of flea infestations and for the treatment and prevention of tick infestations.
One application helps prevent new flea infestations for 4 weeks. It also kills and repels the main tick species indicated in the package leaflet for up to 4 weeks.
Its repellent action lasts up to 3 weeks against sandflies, 4 weeks against mosquitoes and 5 weeks against stable flies.
The formula contains fipronil and permethrin. Use only the pipette corresponding to the dog’s weight and apply the product following the instructions in the package leaflet.
Important information
Veterinary medicinal product for dogs only. Do not use on cats or rabbits: the permethrin contained in the product may cause severe and potentially fatal reactions in cats. Keep treated dogs away from cats until the application site is completely dry.
Do not use on dogs younger than 8 weeks or weighing less than 2 kg. Do not use on sick or convalescent animals. Avoid swimming and shampooing for 48 hours after application.
Read the package leaflet carefully before use. In case of accidental exposure, ingestion, adverse reactions or doubts, contact a veterinarian, pharmacist or doctor as appropriate.

Per quali cani è indicata questa confezione?
La confezione contiene 3 pipette da 2 ml ed è calibrata sui cani di peso compreso tra 10 e 20 kg. La pipetta va sempre scelta in base al peso reale del cane: esistono anche i formati 2-5, 5-10, 20-40 e 40-60 kg, mentre oltre i 60 kg si combinano due pipette.
Contro quali parassiti agisce?
Elimina pulci e zecche e ha attività repellente (anti-feeding) verso flebotomi (pappataci), zanzare e mosche cavalline. I parassiti vengono colpiti per contatto diretto con il prodotto, senza bisogno che pungano il cane.
Quanto dura la protezione?
Le pulci presenti vengono eliminate entro 24 ore e la prevenzione di nuove infestazioni dura 4 settimane; l'efficacia sulle zecche è anch'essa di 4 settimane. L'effetto repellente copre i flebotomi per 3 settimane, le zanzare per 4 settimane e le mosche cavalline per 5 settimane.
Protegge dalla leishmaniosi?
Riduce il rischio di infezione da Leishmania infantum trasmessa dai flebotomi fino a 4 settimane. L'effetto è indiretto, cioè deriva dall'azione sul vettore: non sostituisce le altre misure di prevenzione consigliate dal veterinario.
Ogni quanto va applicato?
Di norma una pipetta al mese. Se il trattamento va ripetuto in base all'esposizione ai parassiti, l'intervallo tra due applicazioni deve essere di almeno 4 settimane.
Come si applica la pipetta?
Taglia l'apice della pipetta tenendola lontana dal viso, separa il pelo fino a vedere la pelle e applica metà del contenuto alla base della testa e metà alla base del collo, tra le scapole: sono due punti che il cane non riesce a leccare. Il prodotto va sulla cute, non sul pelo, e non va massaggiato.
Da che età si può usare?
Da 8 settimane di età e con peso superiore a 2 kg. Non va usato su animali malati o convalescenti, né in caso di ipersensibilità ai principi attivi. In gravidanza, allattamento o terapie in corso, senti prima il veterinario.
Posso lavare il cane o portarlo a nuotare?
L'efficacia sulle pulci si mantiene con bagni o nuotate occasionali, ma non lavare il cane e non farlo nuotare nelle 48 ore successive al trattamento, ed evita lavaggi frequenti perché riducono la durata dell'effetto. Nei 2 giorni successivi tienilo lontano anche dai corsi d'acqua: il prodotto è nocivo per gli organismi acquatici.
Si può usare su gatti o conigli?
No, il prodotto è destinato solo ai cani. Nei gatti e nei conigli può causare reazioni avverse potenzialmente mortali. Se in casa c'è un gatto, tienilo separato dal cane finché il punto di applicazione non è asciutto ed evita che lo lecchi; in caso di contatto accidentale contatta subito il veterinario.
Quali precauzioni con i bambini in casa?
Tratta il cane nelle prime ore della sera e non lasciarlo dormire con le persone, in particolare con i bambini, nella notte successiva. Non toccare il punto di applicazione finché non è asciutto, lavati le mani dopo l'uso e smaltisci subito la pipetta vuota.
Come va conservato?
Nel blister originale, a temperatura non superiore a 25 °C e lontano da fonti di calore. Tieni il prodotto fuori dalla vista e dalla portata dei bambini.
