Product description
FRONTLINE COMBO is a veterinary medicinal product in spot-on solution for dogs. It contains fipronil and (S)-methoprene, combining action against adult parasites with control of the flea life cycle.
It is used against flea infestations, also when associated with ticks and biting lice. (S)-methoprene inhibits the development of flea eggs, larvae and pupae, helping reduce environmental contamination.
Choose the pack according to the dog’s weight:
- dogs weighing 2–10 kg;
- dogs weighing 10–20 kg;
- dogs weighing 20–40 kg;
- dogs weighing over 40 kg.
Each pack contains 3 single-dose pipettes. Separate the coat and apply the entire contents of one pipette directly onto the skin, following the instructions in the package leaflet. Use only the pipette intended for the dog’s weight range.
For veterinary use only. Do not use in puppies under 8 weeks of age or in dogs weighing less than 2 kg. Do not use in sick or convalescent animals, or in animals with known hypersensitivity to the ingredients. The minimum dose is 6.7 mg/kg body weight of fipronil and 6 mg/kg body weight of (S)-methoprene. Determine body weight as accurately as possible before choosing the pipette.

03 Parasites and duration of action
Fleas
Treatment of infestations by Ctenocephalides spp. Insecticidal efficacy against new infestations with adult fleas persists for 8 weeks.
Inhibits eggs, larvae and pupae for 8 weeks
Ticks
Treatment of infestations by Ixodes ricinus, Dermacentor variabilis, Dermacentor reticulatus and Rhipicephalus sanguineus.
Persistent acaricidal efficacy for up to 4 weeks
Biting lice
Treatment of infestations by Trichodectes canis.
Lice are killed within 48 hours after exposureFipronil kills fleas within 24 hours and ticks and biting lice within 48 hours after exposure. The product may be included in a treatment strategy for Flea Allergy Dermatitis when appropriate.
04 Dosage and application
Route: spot-on use, for external use only.
Dosage: apply one complete pipette of the size corresponding to the dog’s weight.
Application: remove the pipette from the package and hold it upright. Tap the narrow part, snap back the tip and part the coat at the base of the neck, in front of the shoulder blades, until the skin is visible.
Administration: place the tip directly on the skin and squeeze the pipette several times until completely empty, applying the contents in one spot.
Repeat treatment: the need and frequency should be based on professional advice, local epidemiology and the animal’s lifestyle. The minimum treatment interval is 4 weeks.
05 How the active substances work
Fipronil is an insecticide and acaricide that acts against adult fleas, ticks and biting lice present on the animal.
(S)-methoprene is an insect growth regulator. It inhibits the development of flea eggs, larvae and pupae, helping interrupt the flea life cycle and reducing environmental contamination.
The combination therefore acts both on adult parasites and on the immature stages of fleas.
06 Contraindications and precautions
Do not use in puppies under 8 weeks of age.
Do not use in sick animals, animals with systemic disease or fever, or convalescent animals.
Do not use in rabbits: adverse reactions, including death, may occur.
This product is specifically formulated for dogs. Do not use in cats or ferrets because this may cause overdosing.
Avoid contact with the animal’s eyes. Apply where the dog cannot lick the product and prevent animals from licking one another after treatment.
Avoid bathing or immersion in water during the 2 days after application and avoid bathing more frequently than once a week.
Dogs should not swim in watercourses for 2 days after application.
The product may be used during pregnancy and lactation. Do not overdose.
07 Adverse events
Very rare adverse events include transient application-site reactions such as skin discolouration, hair loss, itching or redness.
Generalised itching or hair loss, hypersalivation, vomiting, respiratory signs, increased sensitivity to stimulation, depression and other reversible nervous signs have also been reported very rarely.
If licking occurs, a brief period of hypersalivation may occur, mainly because of the nature of the carrier.
Contact a veterinarian if adverse reactions occur or if the treatment appears ineffective.
08 Storage and disposal
Storage: do not store above 30°C. Store in the original package.
Keep out of the sight and reach of children and do not use after the expiry date shown on the carton.
Do not dispose of the product or empty pipettes in wastewater or household waste.
Fipronil and (S)-methoprene may be dangerous to fish and other aquatic organisms. Do not contaminate ponds, waterways or ditches.
Use the applicable collection or take-back system and ask a veterinarian or pharmacist how to dispose of unused veterinary medicines.

Come si applica FRONTLINE COMBO?
Separare il pelo alla base del collo, davanti alle scapole, fino a rendere visibile la cute. Appoggiare la punta della pipetta direttamente sulla pelle e premere più volte fino a svuotarne completamente il contenuto in un unico punto.
Ogni quanto si può ripetere il trattamento?
L’intervallo minimo tra due applicazioni è di 4 settimane. Necessità e frequenza del trattamento devono essere valutate in base al rischio di infestazione, allo stile di vita del cane e alle indicazioni riportate nel foglietto illustrativo.
Quali precauzioni bisogna seguire?
Non utilizzare nei cuccioli di età inferiore a 8 settimane, negli animali malati o convalescenti, nei conigli, nei gatti o nei furetti. Evitare il contatto con gli occhi e applicare il prodotto in un punto che il cane non possa leccare. Evitare bagni o immersioni in acqua nei 2 giorni successivi all’applicazione.
