Product description
FRONTLINE Spray 100 ml is a veterinary medicinal product for external use in dogs and cats. It is a cutaneous spray solution containing fipronil 0.25%, indicated for the treatment and prevention of infestations by fleas, ticks and chewing lice in animals from two days of age.
A single treatment protects dogs and cats against new tick infestations for up to one month. Protection against fleas lasts for up to three months in dogs and up to five weeks in cats. During periods of greater parasite activity, monthly treatment may be advisable in accordance with the package leaflet.
Dosage and application:
- spray 3–6 ml of product per kg of body weight, depending on coat length;
- keep the bottle upright and spray the whole body from a distance of approximately 10–20 cm;
- apply against the direction of hair growth until the coat is evenly wet;
- massage the coat so the product reaches the skin, then allow it to dry naturally;
- for the head and eye area, apply the product to a glove and wipe gently, avoiding the eyes and mucous membranes.
Do not use on animals with extensive skin lesions, sick or convalescent animals, or rabbits. Prevent treated animals from licking one another until the coat is dry. Use protective gloves, ventilate the room during application and keep the product away from flames and heat sources.

01 Composition and dosage
The product contains 0.25 g of fipronil per 100 ml. Excipients are present in sufficient quantity to make 100 ml.
Do not exceed the recommended dose. The quantity must be calculated according to the animal’s weight and coat length.

04 Application method
Route: external use by spraying.
Distance: keep the bottle upright and spray the entire body against the direction of hair growth from a distance of 10–20 cm.
Distribution: spray evenly until the whole coat is uniformly wet.
Massage: rub the back, shoulders, sides, abdomen, legs and neck so the product reaches the skin.
Head and eye area: apply the product to a glove and gently wipe against the direction of hair growth. Do not spray directly towards the eyes.
Drying: allow the coat to dry naturally. Do not use towels or a hair dryer.
05 How fipronil works
Fipronil acts on external parasites and rapidly kills adult fleas, ticks and chewing lice.
Within 24 hours after application, it concentrates in the sebaceous glands of the hair follicles and is progressively redistributed over the skin and coat.
Its rapid action against adult fleas helps prevent egg laying and therefore reduces the risk of new infestations.
06 Contraindications and animal precautions
Do not use on animals with extensive skin lesions.
Do not use on sick animals, animals with systemic disease or fever, or convalescent animals.
Do not use in rabbits, as potentially fatal adverse reactions may occur.
Avoid spraying into the eyes, onto mucous membranes or inside the ears.
Prevent treated animals from licking one another until the coat is completely dry.
Do not allow treated dogs to swim in watercourses for two days after application because fipronil may be harmful to aquatic organisms.
07 Precautions for the person applying it
Keep away from flames, heat sources, food, feed and beverages.
Ventilate the room adequately during application and protect the hands with gloves.
Do not inhale or ingest the product. Do not eat, drink or smoke during application.
Avoid contact with the mouth, eyes and mucous membranes. In case of accidental eye contact, rinse thoroughly with water.
Avoid contact by pregnant women and small children. Children must not play with treated animals until the coat is dry.
Wash hands carefully after use.
08 Adverse reactions
If the animal licks the product, temporary hypersalivation may occur, mainly because of the excipients.
Extremely rare suspected adverse reactions include temporary skin reactions such as redness, itching or hair loss after application.
Hypersalivation, reversible neurological signs, lethargy, nervous symptoms, vomiting or respiratory signs have been observed exceptionally.
Contact a veterinary surgeon if any reaction persists or worsens.
09 Pregnancy, bathing, storage and disposal
Pregnancy and lactation: the product may be used in pregnant and lactating dogs and cats.
Bathing and rain: bathing, rain and shampooing do not interfere with the stated duration of activity against ectoparasites.
Storage: store in a cool, dry place away from flames and heat sources.
Children: keep out of the reach of children.
Disposal: do not release the product into the environment. Dispose of unused product and empty containers in accordance with current legislation. Do not contaminate ponds, watercourses or canals.

Frizionare accuratamente per portare il prodotto a contatto con la cute e lasciare asciugare naturalmente. Ogni quanto si può ripetere il trattamento?
Nei periodi di maggiore presenza dei parassiti è consigliabile effettuare trattamenti mensili. La frequenza deve comunque rispettare le indicazioni riportate nel foglietto illustrativo e le eventuali indicazioni del medico veterinario.
Quali precauzioni bisogna seguire?
Utilizzare esclusivamente per uso esterno. Non usare su animali con estese lesioni cutanee, malati o convalescenti e non utilizzare sui conigli. Evitare occhi, mucose e interno delle orecchie. Impedire agli animali di leccarsi tra loro fino alla completa asciugatura del mantello.
